Jasprit Bumrah reached a rare milestone in the first T20I against South Africa,

joining Shaheen Afridi as one of the few fast bowlers with 100 international wickets across formats.

Before the opening T20I began, Jasprit Bumrah had 99 wickets from 80 T20 internationals.

He reached the three-figure mark by dismissing Dewald Brevis in the 10th over.

With this milestone, the 30-year-old now stands alongside Shaheen Afridi, Lasith Malinga, Tim Southee, and Shakib Al Hasan — all members of the elite 100-wicket club across formats.

He has also become the first Indian bowler ever to claim 100 wickets in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Meanwhile, India dominated the opening match of the series, defeating South Africa by 101 runs at the Barabati Stadium.

Chasing 176 under lights, the South African batting order collapsed to 74 all out in just 12.3 overs as India delivered a ruthless bowling performance.

Hardik Pandya shined on his return, smashing an unbeaten 58 off 29 balls to boost India’s total.

He later added a wicket with the ball, sealing a comprehensive victory and contributing to South Africa’s lowest-ever score in limited-overs cricket.
